Peek

With every new fashion trends I often reflect on the origin.

What the designers are thinking when they came up with the sheer-see the first glimpse on the catwalk in 2008, in a transparent, gossamer gown designed by John Galliano for Dior couture, and now everywhere?

If they find it funny we was all out and about showing our big pants?

In theory, solely to be wearable: it has to be sexy, but still provide coverage of the most important. It should give a little air to the long gowns, mold and sculpt the body. Too often, though, merely considering all thoughts and skills applied to a pair of clean curtains.

Cut from the same cloth? Perhaps a conversation between Prada and …

The first thing you see when you enter the Metropolitan Museum exhibition of surprising life. This first film clips determines the place; two designers talk about how it wasn’t their plan to become a fashion designer.

A sense of imagination and a recurring motif in the art of two designers collection. But in their conversation impossible women agree on fashion designer calls artist. Prada dismiss labels; Schiap covers it.

Schiap and Prada never came to the conclusion to resound at the end of their conversation the exhibition. Schiap tries to get the Prada agree that fashion design is the art: “never, never, Schiap.”

At the end, it is not difficult to imagine that the Schiap and Prada would have a conversation and debate their lives living at the same time. And they agreed a last film clips that they might be friends. You are coming from the exhibition with feeling that women are both very powerful personality celebrating women through the design in a way that is similar. And I can’t help but wonder who might be in the conversation that is impossible with Prada in the second half of the 21st century.
